Raising awareness among children about child rights, safety and sustainable development using art and other innovative methods

I am an active member of Tarikita Kalakammatta, a self-help organisation in our village. Through this, I am creating awareness among the children through my favourite Yakshagana art, song, and drama while giving information about sexual abuse of children on child rights under the "Putta Step - Bold Step" programme in schools and colleges in Bantwal and nearby villages.

And I bring together the teenagers of the community in a community programme called "Pingara Camp", a children's camp for children in my village during school holiday. In this workshop, I will have a session on how children can take small steps for sustainable development, how plastic is ruined for our planet through a play called Plastic Monster, what we can do for it e.g. how they can contribute their small share for sustainable development by using cloth bags instead of plastic. And I am serving as a facilitator in that camp.
